Anthony C. Kohl enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966 and served in Viet Nam in the 1st Marine Division, 2nd Battalion, 5th Regiment from January 1967 until September 22, 1967 when he stepped on a booby trapped, 60-mm mortar round while on patrol near Quang Nam.
Following his discharge from the Marine Corps in 1972, Patriot Kohl was a small business owner until 1980 when the business was sold. He enrolled in Xavier University where he received a BS/BA degree in Business Administration. After completing his education, he was employed with the Kroger Company in store management, retiring in 2000.
Kohl resides in Cincinnati with his wife Eileen. They have 2 children, Steven, 46, and Lisa, 44, and 9 grandchildren ranging from ages 24 to 4.
He is a Life Member of Chapter 3820, Ohio, and joined MOPH in 2008. He’s served as Chapter Commander and Department VAVS Officer, Department Senior Vice Commander and now is National Finance Officer, elected in 2015.
