Patriot Arthur Bishop served as Chapter Adjutant, Chapter Commander, Department Adjutant, Department Chief of Staff, Chair, Department Finance Committee, and National Executive Committeeman since he joined MOPH in 2001
He entered the Army in 1944 and was assigned to the 106th Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a POW and was wounded
After the war, he completed college with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He was given a direct commission in the Air Force, and served until retirement. During that time, he received a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. At retirement, he was Director of the Vela Satellite program, a nuclear detonation detection system. In addition to two Purple Hearts, he holds the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Air Force Commendation Medals.
After military service, he joined Aerojet, an aerospace company, and became Vice President and Director of the Defense Support Program, the only U.S. satellite based system to detect missile launches.
Art and his wife Ellen live in Sacramento, CA, have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
