Patriot William Roush, a Life Member of Michigan Chapter 0110, was appointed National Americanism Officer in 2013.He also has been the Department Americanism Officer and Americanism Officer, Adjutant, Finance Officer, and Historian in his Chapter.
Roush joined the USMCR while in his senior year and upon graduation went into the USMC. He stayed for six years and never left the state of California. So, he joined the US Army and stayed for seven and one-half years. While in the Army, he served four tours in Vietnam. On his last tour, he got hit by a mortar shell. Roush was attached to a Special Forces “B” Team in Mac Hao (Plain of Reeds) with the airboats.
After he was discharged, Roush went to work for the State of Michigan. He worked seventeen and half years as a Correction’s Officer. In 2003, he became a member of MOPH – that’s when he found out that he loved to help at the Battle Creek Medical Center VAMC.
William lives in Hastings MI with his wife, Xuan-Mai, of 47 years and has five children, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
